Graduate Profile: Glen Samsa

I have always been fascinated by forests and trees, and the Bachelor of Science course allowed me to find out how they worked, from nutrient cycling and biogeochemistry, through to the movement of water up into their sometimes massive canopy and photosynthesis.

The diverse range of subjects studied in my degree afforded me the time management skills that I use on a daily basis in my current occupation as a Projects Officer with one of Australia’s leading plantation timber companies.

I currently manage their Research and Development programme, in conjunction with a multitude of more corporate projects looking at new project and acquisition opportunities. I travel extensively and work with a diverse range of people throughout Australia. I could not think of a better degree to help me manage the sheer variety of tasks of my current profession.

Highlights of my course include field trips to the Pilbara and Melville Island. I would definitely recommend the degree to individuals who like variety and like to control their own destiny!
